The Australasian College of Dermatologists supports Choosing Wisely Australia, as they find it important to empower consumers, to understand that they are able to ask questions, understand their illness, understand that not everything that they have requires investigations or requires any specific therapy.

These patients may be put on IV antibiotics, which comes with their own risks to the patient, but also risk of overuse of antibiotics and increased chance of antibiotic resistance.

I think it’s important to appropriately manage patients for their own wellbeing. Not treating a patient may be just as effective, or just as beneficial, as treating a patient.
