This initiative is a living, breathing example of clinicians and consumers working together to create information that debunks some of the myths in the system. That there are some tests that they may not need, that are not necessary, and that might actually be doing them harm.

I think the consumer resources that are part of this initiative and they are very simply put in the five questions to ask your doctor. I think it'll be enormously useful to giving the consumers confidence to do that.

Everyone has an interest, clinicians, the public, and, you know, people that are actively using the health system, consumers, in the health system being as efficient, and effective as it can be, and I think that's where an initiative like Choosing Wisely shows enormous promise to result in the right tests being done at the right time. And better use of money.
