Choosing Wisely launches soon
An Australian program to engage the medical community in identifying and reducing the use of health care services of little or no benefit to consumers has been widely welcomed by experts ahead of its launch next month.
The Choosing Wisely Australia initiative, modelled on similar international programs, will be facilitated by NPS MedicineWise, and will involve medical colleges, each recommending five or more services that clinicians and consumers should question.
The Choosing Wisely implementation toolkit provides guidance on planning and carrying out an effective Choosing Wisely project for your health service.
