National Meeting showcases innovation and partnerships

Innovation, collaboration and consumer engagement were themes explored at the 2018 Choosing Wisely Australia National Meeting held in Canberra last month, with more than 200 delegates in attendance.

We were pleased to host so many representatives from our member and supporter organisations, health departments and the health profession, as well as consumers, researchers and students. It was also encouraging to see so many new faces in the room and we hope you will keep the Choosing Wisely conversation going among your networks and support a national effort to address low-value healthcare.

Scale-up of Choosing Wisely in Victoria

The Better Care Victoria (BCV) Innovation Fund is supporting 11 Victorian health services to become Choosing Wisely champions. A partnership between BCV, NPS MedicineWise and Austin Health to expand health services’ involvement in the initiative follows the achievements of Austin Health as a Choosing Wisely Australia Champion Health Service.

Welcome to our newest members and supporters

The Health Consumers Alliance of SA Inc (HCA) is the first state-based consumer organisation to officially join Choosing Wisely Australia. We welcome HCA, as well as Metro South Health in Queensland, Northern Health in Melbourne, Victoria and Royal Hobart Hospital in Tasmania.
